Term 4

As Term 4 has now started, we have been discussing a lot within the group about our future term goals.

  1. First of all we have needed to label all containers with the right sports gear.
  2. Source all of the correct gear needed to start training for the Oroua Athletics Sports.

We have put together a touch team to participate in the Fielding touch tournament this year. Our goal is to help build skills and teamwork within the team and help the players understand the game and the rules.

We are working hard to achieve our goals this term.

Athletics update

Sprint training is working well.

We have bought new shotput balls and discus for the younger  group. we have set up our hurdles and boxes with the shotputs and discus.

We have got the long jump ready to go.

Next we have set up the 'v' for our throw.

We have set up a system where groups can go out and practise.

Gear is stored inside the door in the library.

Taking out the gear each morning ... the first group to practice

Bringing it in ... the last group to practice

If it is a great sunny day, the gear will be out for practice all day. SSB's will bring it in at the end of the day.

If it is raining the SSB's will bring everything in (With help if we need it. e.g. highjump)
End of the day check ... SSB's

We also need to find the lock for the PE Shed.

Moa Marathon

                                                       Moa Marathon
Last Saturday almost half of our school went into Feilding to finish our Moa Marathon. We did great as nearly everyone in Apiti came in the top ten. We won the 150 dollar voucher for bringing the highest percentage of our school to the event. The school decided that the people who went get have a say in what we buy from Rebel Sport. So we will keep you updated. Thank you to everyone who came in the weekend and THANK YOU to the parents who brought transport!

Week 4 update

                                                                    PE shed
Last week we got the PE shed sorted again for the last time. We hope that it stays clean and gear is put back where it was. But every Monday when we go into the PE shed is messy again. So if you come in the weekend and use the PE gear, please put it back how it was and make sure it is clean. It is gear for school so put back the PE gear nicely.

                                                                       Ramps
If you are coming to Apiti School in the weekend, please leave the ramps where they are because the more they are moved the more the more broken they get and we will not be able to fix them.

                                                                    Our short term goal
Our short term goal is to get the sheds sorted so it will be ready for the new mower next year.

                                                                        Swimming.
Our swimming leson are going. We are all improving with our swimming and getting at better at what we found hard last year.

                                                                     Our awesome new gear.
We got some awesome new gear from Rangiwahia School. We really appreciate it. We have got ...
A sports Trolley
More sports gear like rugby balls, cricket pads, a vortex and much much more

                                                                    Our person of the week
Last week the leaders were asked to choose someone who listened who did things as a good team member and was responsible. It was hard to choose someone ... it came down to Travis Nikki and James. Then I asked one final thing. James just went and did it so I chose him as the person the week for the Super Small Blacks.

Green finger Zone Opening

Our part in the opening of the Green Finger Zone

Zahn and I were at the gate walking everyone to the office. It was hard because we were very nervous. Jaycee.
Nikki help set out the chairs and was a great rolemoled for James and Franklin. Everyone was a rolemodel for the Juniors. Nikki.
Travis and the Bon Apiti Committee welcomed and handed papper towels to put the food they had made onto for lunch. Travis

Vegetable Garden

On Monday James, Franklin and Jaycee planted some more plants in the vege garden. We planted garlic, leeks and a little cabbage
So now we hope they will grow to be big strong plants like the others in the vegetable garden.

                                                             Rock Path

We are making a rock path and we are working on it now. We are making great progress with the rock path. We are doing this so that we can walk around our vege gardens in any weather.

Pinata
We are progressing well on our pinata. It is going to plan so far. Everyone is working well together this has made the build easy fast and fun. Now all we need is some toilet rolls ( empty)  to use as our legs. We have decorated it. We are proud of our team work to make our pinata this has made the build so fun to do. It  look like a horse. It was meant to look like a dragon. We decided to make a pinata for the technology challenge  First we looked on the internet to see some designs. Next we took a vote to choose what our pinata will be.
(Nikki) I liked the colour
(Travis) I like the way we plan and the way we work together
(Jaycee) I like the way our pinata came out and how we work together as a team.

                                                                   Marking the Field
On Friday Travis, Zahn, Huntah  and Jaycee started to mark the Field with 4 cans of tail paint. We started on the east side of marking the out line(with red tail paint). Then we started the goalie box (with blue tail paint). It is not the world's best goalie box but it will do for now. Then we started the other outline on the other side. Travis, Zahn, Huntah and I walked over to the other side of the field to mark the other goalie box because we had run out of red tail. So we got part of the outline done but we got both of the goalie boxes done.
